James A. Hopkins
James A. Hopkins founded Real Estate Consultants, Inc. in 1977 and Real Estate Consultants of Colorado, LLC in 2010 serving as President and Chief Executive Officer for both companies.
In small and humble beginnings, Real Estate Consultants, Inc.’s first office was also its first listing located in a 22-story, 400,000 square foot office building at 55 E. Jackson Blvd. in the Chicago Loop. Under Jim’s calm and careful guidance, Real Estate Consultants, Inc. expanded its operations and stronghold in the Chicago Loop with growing numbers of office and industrial warehouse sales and lease assignments as they pioneered the south and west loop loft office explosion.
In the mid 1980’s, Jim set his sights and energies on the suburban commercial real estate market and once again set up small and humble beginnings in a suburban operation located in Lombard. This office experienced tremendous growth which eventually led to company expansion, merger and relocation and a new corporate identity including a new name: RECI.
In 2006, RECI purchased its own 63,000 square foot corporate home known as the 2500 Highland Building located directly across from the regional Yorktown Shopping Center just north of the robust East-West Corridor on Highland Avenue in Lombard. As a dominant leader in the business condominium sector of the commercial real estate market, RECI is considered among the largest commercial real estate firms in the western suburbs in 2010; managing commercial projects valued in excess of $250,000,000.
